A.N: This is the sequel to Prussia x Tomboy!Reader x America - So Confusing. If you have not read it yet, here~ fav.me/d76lw47
This is Prussia's ending~!

No way. I just. . . I refuse to believe it. He can't still hold these feelings after so long, can he? I mean, he has to move on eventually. . . I don't like him that way. I just want him as a friend!

"Ah, you're growing up so fast. You might even have a boyfriend," Mom says, smiling. I blush, shaking my head.

"No! I mean, I don't really. . . like him that way. He likes me, but I don't think I return the feelings!" I exclaim.

"Well let him down gently, dear." I look at the pink heart shaped card in my hand, and slowly nod.

"Yeah. . . . I will. . ." I mumble. I hear her footsteps as she exits the room to cook breakfast. I sigh and flop down on my comfortable bed, wishing I could just rest my worries away. "Why can't life be that simple? I won't let this get in the way of a friendship, though. It doesn't seem worth it to waste a friend. . ." I say quietly to myself. I place the card gently on a nightstand. Then I hear a little peeping sound. It seems a bit. . . muffled, though. I turn my head, and see a small little yellow chick sitting on the outside of my window, chirping. I smile to myself, knowing exactly who's "awesome" pet that is. Getting up, I walk over to the window and open my window, letting in the little bird. He hops inside, and then flies up to my shoulder. I laugh and pet his head.

"Gilbird! Where the heck did you go?" Gilbert's voice exclaims outside.

I scoop Gilbird up in my hands and whisper,
"Shh. . . Do you want to hang out with me for a while?" Gilbird nods his head, and I smile. "Good."

"Gilbird! That is so unawesome of you to fly away from me at random!" Gilbert's voice rings out again. I place Gilbird down on some soft pillows and walk over to the window.

"Yo Gil, calm down! I'm sure your bird will come back!" I yell out to him as he wanders around my neighborhood. His head turns, as if looking for something.

"_______? Where are you?"

I laugh at his idiocy, and say,
"Over here, bro."

He turns his head over to me, and then smirks, saying,
"Oh, I knew that! The awesome me was uh. . . looking at the scenery! Yeah." I roll my eyes, laughing.

"Whatever Gil."

"Hey have you seen Gilbird anywhere? He flew off, which was so unawesome!" Gilbert says, placing his hands on his hips.

I place an innocent smile on my face and say,
"Haven't seen him." Then he pauses for a moment. All of a sudden, I hear his loud laughter, and I tilt my head. "What is it?" I ask.

"You're such a mess right now!" he exclaims. I suddenly feel my cheeks grow red as I realize I didn't change from my pajamas.

"Shut up, I'll be back!" I exclaim, hiding my blush.

"Awesome pajamas, ______!"

"I said shut up, dude!" I yell, walking away from the window and opening my closet. I take some random plain clothes and walk into the bathroom to change. I sigh, faceplaming. I'm so awkward, seriously. . . I change into some everyday clothing, and then walk out and find that Gilbert is gone. I lean outside of my window a bit, and realize he's nowhere in sight. He must be gone to search for Gilbird. I'm not surprised, I mean Gilbird is probably more important than me. I hear a small chirp from Gilbird, and then I feel a light weight on my shoulder. I turn to find the yellow bird now sitting on my shoulder and nuzzling my neck. I smile slightly, realizing he must be trying to comfort me.

"I knew you had Gilbird," a voice says. My eyes widen, and I turn to see Gilbert now in front of my window with a triumphant smirk on his face.

"Where did you go?" I ask, slightly mad that he tricked me.

"I'm not telling~!" he teases. I sigh, and pick up Gilbird.

"You want him back?" I ask. He stops for a moment, then his smirk turns into something like a warm smile.

"Well. . . I don't mind if you keep him for a day. Who knows, maybe his awesomeness will rub off on you!" he says teasingly. I reach over and punch his shoulder playfully.

"Hey! I'm awesome, and you know it!" I exclaim, a small smile on my face. He rubs his chin as if thinking, then he looks at me with his strange red eyes.

"Hm. . . . Yeah. Maybe you are a bit awesome. You should be proud that I said that," he says, smiling.

I return the smile, and say,
"I guess it's better than nothing."

"Hey, I'll be back tomorrow to pick up Gilbird. You better take care of my awesome pet!" he exclaims. I nod, waving him off.

"Yeah, yeah. I will. Don't worry, he'll be safe and sound when you pick him up." He nods, walking away.

"Bye, temporarily!" he exclaims, and when he says that, he starts running.

"Stop adding the temporarily part, it's weird!" I yell, hopefully loud enough for him to hear. I hear his strange laugh, and I can't help but laugh as well. I look down at Gilbird, who's staring up at me with black eyes. I smile, petting him gently on the head. "You know, your owner is an idiot. But he's a funny idiot." I walk back to my bed, and I think about our strange encounter. I laugh silently to myself, and I feel Gilbird sit on top of my head. I think about Gilbert, and how strange he is to me. How teasingly annoying he is, yet how sweet he can be sometimes. I wonder. I wonder if. . . this is what love feels like. . . To always have that one on your mind, and imagining what it would be like. I look at the card beside me. Alfred. . . he's funny and my friend. Maybe though. . . He's not the one for me. I feel Gilbird leave my head and hop over to the card. I smile sadly, saying, "Someone else likes me too, Gilbird. I really like your owner though, too. Maybe even love. . . It's amazing really, to love someone. I just wish it was returned. There are so many songs for love, yet I have yet to experience it myself. Perhaps it's a bit overrated." I don't even know why I'm talking to a bird. It's just comforting, I guess. . .

"So that's how you feel?" a voice says, shocking me out of my thoughts. My eyes widen, and I immediately turn around to see Gilbert, a smirk on his face as he leans against my window.

I feel heat rush to my cheeks, and I quietly ask,
"How much did you hear. . .?"

"Mm, the first part was too quiet for me to hear, but I do know that you have a crush on someone!" Gilbert says, smiling.

"Oh great. . . . I thought you left anyways why are you back already?" I mumble, holding Gilbird close to myself.

He chirps in response, and Gilbert laughs, saying,
"Aw, come on. Can't I tease you once in a while? Besides tricking you is fun and awesome! And you know, love isn't overrated. It just. . . depends on the person. That's what Francis told me, anyways." I sigh, still holding Gilbird in my hands. I slowly walk over to him as the cold morning air hits me.

"I know, I know, but don't you. . . you know, have a girlfriend?" I ask quietly.

He sighs, and says,
"Ah well, I used to anyways. She wasn't the one for me, I suppose." My eyes widen again, but I can't help but feel. . . bad for him. I'm relieved that he's single now, but still. . . He waves me off, shaking his head. "Don't worry, I'm fine," he says.

I nod, then say,
"Then. . . what now? If she wasn't the one for you, then do you have anyone else on your mind?"

He smirks, and says,
"I may have someone. She's out of my league, though." Could he be talking about me? He's always saying that I'm a somewhat awesome person, which is a compliment apparently to him, but. . . I shouldn't keep my hopes up.

"Will you ask her out soon then?" I ask, placing Gilbird cautiously on my head.

"Sure, why not?" he says, smiling.

"What do you mean?" I ask, looking at his smile. What is that all about? His earlier confident behavior seems to falter as his smile drops.

"Hm. . . I think she might reject me. I'm not the best guy out there, you know?" he says, looking at me with a sad expression. I give him a smile, hoping to ease his spirits.

While I'm slightly jealous and confused, I say,
"You're not the best, but you're you. You have great qualities, and you can take a joke. This is just my own experience with you, but while you're a freaking jerk sometimes and I want to punch you. . . I still consider you a close friend that I can laugh and tease without worry. Someone that I can always count on to make me smile, and lift my spirits up when I'm down. Most of all. . ." I pause, looking at his face that is slightly shocked and a light pink is on his cheeks. I laugh a little, then say, "I love you. Take that however you want, but I should go eat breakfast." Giving Gilbert a small wave, Gilbird hops down to a counter and I turn around to exit my room.

"W-wait!" Gilbert's voice exclaims, now breaking out of his shock.

I turn my head to face him, and I ask,
"Yeah?"

"Um. . . look. While you're strange, and completely different from all the other girls I've met, I want you to know that. . . I love you too. ______ _____, even though you're way out of my league, will you. . . go out with me?" My eyes widen. So he really does like me. Really? Really? I stand there, stunned for a moment, but then I feel a smile make it's way onto my face.

"Gil?"

"Y-yeah?"

"I'd love to."

“You know, when it works, love is pretty amazing. It's not overrated. There's a reason for all those songs.” - Sarah Dessen
